Cron to UTC: avoid timezone deployment mistakes
When teams run services across regions, cron schedules should usually be checked in UTC. Convert your expression and verify next runs in UTC before production.
Workflow
- Paste cron expression.
- Switch timezone to UTC.
- Review next 10 run times.
- Confirm alerting and logs are also UTC (or clearly converted).
DST warning: if you schedule in local time, daylight-saving transitions can skip or duplicate runs.
Safer default: schedule infrastructure jobs in UTC and convert only at display time.
